Other info:Original plant purchased from local nursery as 'Ann Chowning'. Based on the photos provided by other growers at Dave's Garden, this does not exactly look like their 'Ann Chowning'. The local nursery purchases from Walter's Garden, who in my opinion, is reputable, but may be like other wholesale sources with respect to Irises and Daylilies, and do not always provide true-to-name varieties, or especially with Daylilies, provides tissue culture plants. However, another possibility is that this poor plant has grown under terrible conditions -- not the best soil, being crowded out by Ostrich ferns, and is already in a too shaded area. Perhaps with more sun, fertile soil and appropriate moisture, the flowers would look more like the Dave's Garden photos. Also, the slugs did a number on the plants because of the excess shade.
