Other info: Easy to grow once established. The species Asclepias is the only plants on which the Monarch butterfly will lay their eggs. Plant makes an excellent cut flower and combines well with lavender/purple Monarda. Although I have this listed as only zone 5 hardy, I have report from a grower that the plants will grow as far north as Thornbury, Ontario, Canada.
