Maintenance: Prune to 12" in spring in colder zones and autumn in warmer zones.
Other info: Easy to grow. Will bloom the first year from seed. Blooms best when spent blooms are removed. Has a very long bloom period. -- These seeds have been harvested from the large plume flowering plant shown in the photo. However, because of cross-pollination with 'Black Night' and 'Royal Red', the seedlings tend to come in several different shades of lavender and purple.

Germination: Easy. Best started indoors 6-8 weeks prior to last spring frost. Sow seed in container on good seed starting -- do not cover seeds. Gently press seeds into mix and moisten mix. Place container in a location at 68-70°F. Germination should begin in 10-15 days. Seedlings are small but grow quickly.
