Campsis radicans Seeds...Seed from Trumpet Vine...Seed from Campsis radicans

Common Names Trumpet Creeper, Virginia Creeper, Trumpet Vine
Height: 8' to 10'
Type: Vine
Flower color: Orange
Bloom time: Summer
Light: Full sun to Part Shade
Zone: 5-9
Water: Average
Soil: Average
Maintenance: Seems to bloom better when pruned
Other info: I only have one vine and don't plan on growing any additional. If I do it will most likely be from cuttings and not seed. So I do not know how long it will take a campsis radicans vine to reach maturity when starting from seed.

#0079 Campsis radicans (trumpet vine):
(Input number of packets into checkbox -- $1.00 per packet)
[30 seeds per packet]
Germination: I currently do not have hands on experience with germinating campsis seeds, but think from reading that it will be slightly difficult. (I will shortly be testing some germination.) Sow seeds on surface of moistened paper towel and press the seeds against the paper towel to soak up the moisture. Light is required for germination. Place paper towel inside sandwich baggie and place baggie in location at 68-70°F (make sure that the seeds are face upwards and the paper towel is on the bottom so that the seeds will be exposed to the light). Seeds should begin germinating in 6-8 weeks. Pot up in good seed starting mix once seed has germinated. Alternatively, sow on surface of good seed starting mix, pressing the seeds onto mix, but do not cover seeds with mix. Place container inside baggie to retain moisture and begin checking for germination in 6-8 weeks.
