Photo taken 8/23/06 in the heat and dry of the summer. The leaves in the spring and early summer are darker with more of the purple/burgundy color.
Germination: Fairly easy to slightly difficult germination. Start seed indoors 4-6 weeks prior to last spring frost. Sow seeds on good seed starting mix, gently pressing seeds into mix. Do not cover seeds with mix as light may aid germination. Moisten mix and keep moist until germination begins. Place container in location at 70-75°F. Seed should begin germinating in 10-20 days.
