TIARELLA wherryi

(Foam Flower)
** Tiarella flower **

Germination: Slightly difficult. Best started indoors.   Surface sow (light required for germination) on good seed starting mix and place container in location at 70°F.   If seeds have not started germinating in 3 weeks, move container to the refrigerator for 4-6 weeks, then move back to a location at 70°F. Seeds should begin germinating in 2-3 weeks.   NOTE: I am of the understanding that Tiarella seeds are only viable for 6 months and then the seeds die -- I do not know that for sure.   You would need to start the germination process right away and therefore you may definitely need indoor lights.   It is possible, however, that you could start the process as soon as you receive the seeds and then leave the seeds in the refrigerator until March and then place the container outdoors for germination when the weather warms.
