(Input number of packets into checkbox -- $1.00 per packet)
[50 seeds per packet]
Germination: Easy germination. Can be started indoors 2-4 weeks prior to last spring frost. Sow seed in container on good seed starting mix. Cover seeds lightly. Moisten mix and keep mix moist until germination begins. Place container in a location at 70°F. Germination should begin in 6-10 days. From my experience, I had difficulty with transplanting seedlings. The plants just didn't do as well (major problem was stunted growth of plant height and size of flower head) as direct sown plants. However, I've spoken with several others who have had great success with indoor sowing and transplanting when the seedlings were young. So maybe the difficulties I encountered had more to do with weather conditions than that of transplanting. If you choose to container sow and transplant, I suggest transplanting the seedlings as young as possible. Otherwise, does very well direct sown to garden location after last spring frost, sowing in very shallow rows and covering only lightly with soil.
