Germination: Slightly difficult germination. My germination handbook says freeze seed packet 5-7 days prior to sowing. Then soak seeds in warm water for 7 days (I guess you would have to change water often ??). Then sow in medium covering seeds and alternating temperatures between 80°F days and 60°F nights. To me, the easiest method is outdoor container sowing. Sow the seeds 6-8 weeks prior to last spring frost. Sow seed in container on good seed starting mix. Cover seeds lightly. Moisten mix and place container inside baggie to retain moisture. Place container in an outdoor sheltered location (when freeze may still occur) out of the direct sun. Germination will begin as weather warms. Seedlings are easy to transplant to garden location.
